Concrete Erosion Neutralizer
CEN (Concrete Erosion Neutralizer), previously known at CP, is a water-borne, green solution for neutralizing concrete erosion. It self-permeates 75mm to 140mm into a concrete medium, addressing the primary causes of concrete erosion: stopping the rusting of embedded metal rebars which cause concrete breakage, and decreasing the level of salts and chlorides in the concrete by over 50%. CEN is amorphous in the absence of water and possesses the ability to repeatedly rehydrate.
Once applied to the concrete surface, CEN self-permeates 75mm to 140mm into the concrete, reaching and surpassing the embedded rebars. During this penetration, CEN:
Reduces soluble salts and chlorides (pH value) by over 50%
Self-coats the embedded metal rebars, shielding them from corrosion agents
CEN is environmentally safe, has a very low VOC level, and is easy to apply.
CEN is produced in the USA
Description
CEN is a water-borne, green product that works by permeating concrete. CEN is a hydrogel-based product rather than a silicate, sodium silicate, or lithium-based product. As a 1 K material, it only requires stirring or shaking before application. In its amorphous state without water, CEN is capable of repeatedly re-hydrating while performing three main functions:
Permeates concrete substrates 3-5.5 inches (75-140mm) below the surface.
Reduces chlorides and salts within the concrete substrate by over 50%.
Creates an aqueous film that protects against water while allowing the concrete to breathe.
NOTE: CEN is not a structural product and should only be used on structurally sound substrates.
Typical Usage
CEN is an effective solution for halting spalling concrete and enhancing it’s durability in various environmental conditions. Compatible with a range of concrete types, CEN primarily impacts the internal structure of the concrete substrate with minimal effect on its surface. Following application, a slight sheen may appear on the concrete surface, and in the presence of salt, a white powder-like color may emerge, necessitating washing off.
Besides salt, CEN effectively removes chlorides and permeates deeply below the surface of concrete, reaching up to 5.5 inches (approximately 140mm) into a standard concrete medium, which is a typical depth of permeation.
Once applied, the concrete is primed. As CEN is a water-borne product, it can be applied on concrete surfaces that are dry, wet, or damp. However, any pooling water in low spots on the surface must be removed before applying CEN.
Shortly after application, you can walk on the concrete.
